The Measure [SA] are putting the finishing touches on their next full length. Simply entitled Notes,the albumspans 14 new songs recorded with Chris Pierce at Technical Ecstasy in Milltown, NJ in the Fall of 2009. The band is currently mixing the album and expects to have it out by early summer 2010 on their new home, No Idea Records...

I'm stoked to finally announce the pre-order of the Virgins/ Over Stars & Gutters split cassette that I'm putting out through my new label Shouting Street Audio Cassettes. Everything was sent off to the duplication plant yesterday and will be released on october 30th. This is the first time I've released anything and I'm really excited to be working with such fantastic bands. Virgins (feat. Sam Johnson from No Friends, ex-New Mexican Disaster Squad) sent me four live-takes from their show at last year's The Fest 7 to put on their side of the tape. The songs, "Perfect World", "Atheist In America", "White Night" and "Escape From '07", all came out great and I'm really excited about releasing them. Over Stars & Gutters, my new favorite band from Norman, Oklahoma, went into the studio and recorded two brand new songs, "Making Mends" and "Boxes", exclusively for this split. Needless to say, the tape is going to turn out great. Buy the tape and you will also get two band buttons and a download-card which will let you download the songs as Mp3's.

As some of you might know I've been going to the university for the last 3 and a half years in order to become a qualified teacher. This is part of why the site has been lacking updates pretty badly this year. Loads of books to read, final essays etc... But, today I attended my final seminar and I'm now officially a teacher! So, starting tomorrow I will dive into the huge pile of records I've been meaning to review for the last couple of months. Time to dust of the old record player and get back in business. As for tonight, I'm just gonna kick back, listen to Guy Clark and treat myself with a 12 year old single malt. Cheers!

Virgil Dickerson from Vinyl Collective and Eric Mueller at Pirates Press were kind enough to answer a ton of questions I sent to them and I think it all turned out great. Five new reviews were posted today including Jon Snodgrass' "Visitor's Band", Shorebirds' "It's Gonna Get Ugly", the new volume of "Dangerous Intersections" and a few more. Sorry for the lack of updates in interviews and articles lately. As I mentioned earlier an interview with Austin Lucas is underway but it's been a little delayed since he's on tour with Tim Barry at the moment. It should be up shortly though. Also, the interview with author Nate Gangelhoff is coming together nicely and should be up any day now. I'm also working on an article about vinyl collecting that will feature the guys from Vinyl Vlog and Virgil from Vinyl Collective. Dangerous IntersectionsThat one should be pretty cool, so stay tuned for updates on that. Last but not least I'm about to interview Slow Boat Films and Konrad Wert aka Possessed by Paul James about the movie The Folksinger. Don't miss that! Finally! It's about time that we present our very first tour diary. First out is Down And Away from Askersund, Sweden. Martin Elf, the band's drummer, wrote a diary during the band's latest tour which took place in November this year. Thanks a lot Martin! We will post more tour-diaries in the future.
