      <title>Windows 7 Release Date : All Smoke, No Fire !</title>
      <description>
I hate to spoil the party again, but was Bill Gates really talking about the Windows 7 release date? I have tried to search for the original version where I could have read the full interview, and not just these two statements, quoted out of context ! But I have only come across only the CNet Blog Post &amp; Reuters as the most quoted sources. And if these are all that there is, then no, I don't think it is not what is being made out to be !

A security consultant, Adam Boileau, based in New Zealand has released a tool that can unlock Windows computers in seconds, via a Firewire port, without the need for a password.

The hack, which affects Windows XP computers but has not yet been tested with Windows Vista, was first demonstrated, at a security conference in Sydney in 2006, but Microsoft has yet to develop a fix.

But now that a couple of years have passed and the issue has not resolved, Boileau, decided to release the tool on his website.

      <title>Internet Explorer does auto-complete http:// in the address bar</title>
      <description>
If you find that your IE 7 is not filling in the http:// in the address bar automatically, when it should, ie after you type the url address and hit enter, it could, quite possibly a case of corruption in the Registry! Consequently, you may be unable to load web pages. The cause could be a present or past malware infections or any other reason too ! So the first thing to do would be to run an additional anti-spyware like, say, Ad-Aware.

      <title>Mac : A Case of Subterfuge Marketing?</title>
      <description>
One of my visitors brought a rather interesting incident to my notice. He wrote that, clicking on a 'Windows Vista' Google Ad, appearing on WinVistaClub home page, took him to a Mac landing page. Curiosity got the best of me and I clicked on that 'Windows Vista' Google Ad (Forgive Me Oh Google); And sure enough it took me to a Mac Landing page. Point is: Does Mac really need to misrepresent itself as Windows Vista to sell its product?

If you're like most PC users, you probably got Windows Vista with a new PC or laptop. Microsoft seems to have realized this problem, and have thankfully made a recovery disc for this purpose. . .
