Controlled tires

The controlled tire was selected and it is premounted LRP VTEC Harakiri with soft compound . The price per pair is 22 euros. Tires for the race must be bought from the organizer and those tires are marked by the organizer before drivers will receive their tires.

In the free practise there is no limitations and drivers can use any tires they feel comfortable. You can also buy the tires for free practise from the organizer if you like. There is no limitation how many pairs you can use during the event.

The race format is getting finalized

Hello,

We've been silent for quite a while for now and sorry about that. Now it is time to do something about it. There is several items we've been working with, like controlled tires, sponsors, venue, schedule and race format. Today I want to talk about race format. I want show the "release candidate" of the race format and explain it a little bit.

The track

There has been quite a lot discussion about the track and also some doubts have been raised. Yes, the material will be astroturf. That is pretty much only option as a material for the track. The schedule to build the track is quite tight so we need to find a compromise how to build the track. Astroturf doesn't mean that it would give big advantage for few drivers and that is because we have few key elements to make it more even for everyone.

First of all the track will be more or less US style track with many jumps. Of course the jumps will be big and fast. This pretty much means that the air time will be more than enough... Second element is using other material in couple of corners. It might be clay or it might be very slippery tiles. The idea is to use totally different material in few corners to make the track more even. Third item is controlled tires. Because this is a very unique event for everyone and there is very little information about the track material. We feel that it would be best for everyone that we have only tyre option and you could buy the tires from organizer.

I know this could be a shock for eight scale buggy racers, but why not trying something different? What do you think? Is astroturf and controlled tires a big no or is it something a worth of trying?
