      <title>Oracle Buzz #7, The Buzz About Oracle ApEx</title>
      <description>
This podcast is sponsored by Oracle Corp. It's about Oracle Application Express, also known as ApEx and formerly known as HTML DB.

This podcast was a fun podcast to record. In it, I interview David Peak, Application Express Product Manager from Oracle and Peter Martin, an ApEx user.

We discussed a lot of issues about ApEx including what ApEx is, how much it costs, where to get it, how does it scale, what kind of community support exists, new features in 3.0, etc. David and Peter are both very knowledgeable about ApEx and were great to interview. They both provided tidbits of information that I'm not sure you'll find anywhere else.

You can get to the podcast here: The Buzz about Oracle Application Express

I guess technically this is podcast #7 for me. Almost getting to be a habit. ;-)

Check out the associated white paper: &lt;a href="http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/oracle/guide/archives/10-questions-on-oracle-application-express-white-paper-17008">10 Questions on Oracle Appilcation Express&lt;/a>.

      <title>Oracle Buzz 3, VLDB and Partitioning</title>
      <description>
VLDBs require special handling for functions often taken for granted in smaller databases. Input may be millions of rows rather than a few; building indexes can take hours instead of minutes; query times can be minutes instead of seconds. Listen to Lewis Cunningham, an experienced Oracle DBA, as he describes the Partitioning Option of Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition, how it can help you manage multi-terabyte databases, and how it solved critical response time issues in two real-world scenarios.
