It's been a busy Summer for Peru Profundo! In June we performed at the Skokie Public Library once again as well as the "Renacer Boliviano" picnic at Schiller Park. We performed for Peruvian Independence Day at Daley Plaza on July 24, 2009, courtesy of the Peruvian Arts Society. On July 29, 2009 we performed a private show at the Chicago Public Library Edgewater Branch and now it's fall! Also keep an eye out for our upcoming shows this Fall!/ A sido un verano muy ocupado para Peru Profundo! En Junio bailamos en la Biblioteca de Skokie de nuevo y tambien en el picnic del grupo "Renacer Boliviano" en Schiller Park. Fuimos invitados por el Peruvian Arts Society para la presentacion de Fiestas Patrias el 24 de Julio. El 29 de Julio bailamos un evento privado en la Biblioteca de Chicago en Edgewater. WOW! We had 2 great shows this past Sunday. One at the Skokie Public Library and at UIC. Our Skokie show was full of stories, poetry and of course dancing! We also had the debuts of Marinera Limena and a fantastic Festejo featuring kids from Boone Elementary! At UIC, we took part of Latino Fest and featured Carnival de Arequipa and a festejo! Thanks to the Boone School kids for that great surprise and Cecilia for all the help! Stay tuned for pictures! - rs

Greetings! It has been a tremendously busy 2008 and we have finally updated all our PICTURES from shows that we had not previously posted. Please look at our MEDIA page to check them out! We also added positive feedback from our NBC 5 Travel Expo Show as well as an extra NBC 5 treat. We thank our dancers Elsa and Kaniah as well as Dr. Alfonso Bardales (Kathy's dad), Mercedes Quesada and Cecilia M. Wong for volunteering that day. Most of all, we thank Ron for all his hard work on this update! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! SEE YOU IN 2009!/Saludos! On behalf of Peru Profundo Dance, we'd like to congratulate Peru Negro, Gianmarco and Damaris on being nominated for Latin Grammies this year. Peruvians and Peruvian Americans are so proud to see that Peruvian musicians are being recognized internationally! Congratulations! At the same time, we want to recognize and salute the passing of two great Peruvian artists: Yma Sumac and Zenobio Dagha. May their legacy continue through their music./ De parte de todos los integrantes de Peru Profundo, queremos felicitar a Peru Negro, Gianmarco y Damaris en ser nominados por Latin Grammies en el 2008. Peruanos y Peruano Americanos estamos orgullosos de ver a nuestros artistas ser reconocidos internacionalmente! Felicitaciones!
