We're back! It was an amazing time in Peru and we have returned refreshed and ready for our Fall and Winter Seasons! Over the last three weeks in Peru we have taken master dance classes with director of Los Guapos del Centro Mr. Elvis Cabrera in Huaylarsh, Festejo, Zamacueca & baile Amazonico. It was an incredible honor to work so closely with a champion dance teacher who has inspired so many youth from Lima to proudly represent the Huanca nation through Huaylarsh. We traveled to Cuzco, Sacsayhuaman & nearby ruins, Ollantaytambo, Pisac, Chincheros and one of the Seven Wonders of the World...Machu Picchu ! While in Cuzco we visited the Qosco Center of Native Arts to admire the most beautiful dances from various regions of the Andes. We then flew to Piura where we meet Mr. Jose Fernandez, son of legendary Zelmy Rey to receive master classes in Marinera Norteņa and Tondero. We traveled to Catacos and the marshy beaches of San Pedro in Sechura where we admired the array of seagulls, cranes, pelicans and flamingos that live there. Overall we feel blessed to have had the opportunity to complete our mission. We would not have been able to complete this mission had it not been that the Chicago Foundation for Education granted our Kathy a teacher fellowship and as travel companions we were there to share the experience! Keep your eyes open for developments as Kathy develops her elementary unit on Peru! /
- ks

Wow! Last week's back to back shows were amazing! We had a great time at the Mother's Day show at the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS and at the Regal Banquet Hall! Everyone at both shows gave a thunderous round of appaluse! We hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed performing the dances! As always, stay tuned for the photos! - rs
