font-family: Arial">Working 6 days a week at a regular job leaves energy as short as the time to accomplish all I'd like.

Finally in August we got the Fresh Engine hooked to my good Hydramatic and into the car.
Next was hooking up the electric and linkages and firing the engine for the 1st time. 8/30/2009

The sweet sound and sight of the uncapped High Compression L-Head Straight Eight accompanies this post.
The 1st time you fire any engine rebuild brings a special feeling of accomplishment and a job well done feeling.

We are running it straight from a gas can to the engine as I still need to drop the tank and clean it.
Both the fuel pump and carburetor needed to be cleaned of the varnish build up from sitting.

It is the lowest point of the project and very depressing as your list of wants and needs is so long and it seems to be taking up every bit of space you have.
Every car I know to be restored turned into a can of worms.

<span style="font-size: 10pt; The feeling when the prep work is finally done to apply color and how sweet it feels to see it all painted and shining. These moments all lead you to new found energy and stamina moving toward completion. Then there is that 1st ride down your street and the looks from all those onlookers with there thumbs up in the air.

.
Another thing I learned along the way is when you have the money you don't have the time.

When you have the time you don't have the money, or maybe that is just me?

I know for me time goes twice as fast these days and the money doesn’t come in any easier but sure goes out.

If you have a spouse that supports your dreams and allows for your obsession or addiction you are truly blessed.

I have more cars than I need and had some far longer than any relationship or marriage ever lasted for me.

I still can't pass up a deal and can envision or picture any junkyard find done to a show winner no matter how bad it looks to someone else.

Till the next time down the road…
 Jim

Change you can believe in

In the updating of site many parts pages were left off. I will continue to update and add my inventory to the site as time permits. In the interim please just call or email any requests.
I don't know how you are feeling about all the changes going on in the auto industry with bailouts, loosing brands, dealerships having franchises taken away and government control -but I think it stinks!

I don't know or do I trust where the free market principles went. Power and Greed are terrible things with no controlling legal authority. My personal opinion is we had a structure already set up called bankruptcy. If followed from the beginning of the manufactures issues would have us on a different path today with more people working and less lost franchises and brands. I am not against consolidation but maybe the brands loosing their own identities through the years to become cookie cutter models lost some customers who saw no difference between brands.

Now the politicians who have no auto, or private business experience are going to fix it all. I find this hard to believe!

My experience has taught me the bigger the company the more mistakes they make. In small business you can't afford mistakes. Being dictated to what you must build by the government is no solution or has it ever been. CAFE and safety standards does not necessarily build what people want. Coming up with some alternate fuel source is wonderful idea but the government has yet to decide which one they are behind -so how do you build anything to suit these people when they keep changing the rules?

If the car companies are left to build what the people want they will be fine - on their own -just like you and me do it!

Change you can believe in -
Live your life as an example -watch what we say and our actions should match our own words.
Sorry -I don't find that in Washington!

Complete Website Revamp

Through long nights and many hours of diligence we have redone our site for your convenience. I owe a large debt of gratitude for all the work my son put into this for me. If you like his work let me know and maybe he can help you with a presence on the net as well.

More new sections to be added in the future to include Barn and Field Finds along with some pictures dug up of some other rides we have done.

With the winter over and Spring in the air we are back in the garage looking to get rolling again completing some work on all my collection. The last year I've been collecting many missing pieces. Working full time outside my own business takes me longer to get things done and puts my business to a part time basis. Finally I hope to have turned the corner to get my own rides done.

Customer work fell off the last few years with two major customers 1. Slow pay and 2. No Pay.
There are many dreamers out there. Many want to buy back their youth or think they can get rich quick in this hobby. I'm still dedicated to it as a Labor of Love.
