      <description>
In this tutorial I will show you how to do some simple, yet awesome, color correction using the tools supplied in After Effects. Color correction is a very important thing when it comes to filmmaking and while there are numerous tutorials online, they generally discuss using third party plugins like Colorista.

      <title>HORROR UK!</title>
      <description>
More good news! THE GATEKEEPER has officially been selected into the 2009 Horror UK 28 Hours Later film festival. That means THE GATEKEEPER is two for two on the submission front. We couldn't be happier. This will be the European premiere of the film which is super exciting to say. I've checked out some of the films being shown and they all look pretty awesome. The festival will be on October 30 and Halloween.

      <title>HOW JAMES CAMERON IS SAVING MOVIES</title>
      <description>
Let’s face it, our current time period in film history will not be known for its originality. Remakes, reboots, sequels and prequels have dominated the beginning of the 21st century. One man has chosen to skip this period in film history altogether. He has embarked on a quest so epic, it could only be rivaled by one of his films. This man is James Cameron and he is trying to save us all.

      <description>
Going into TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, I really wasn’t expecting much. Or should I say I was expecting exactly what I got: A stupid 2.5+ hour movie containing a hell of a lot of robots making noise and Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox running around for…well…no one really knows.

      <title>TUTORIAL - Create a UFO using Cinema 4D</title>
      <description>
In my FIRST EVER video tutorial, I'll be showing you how to create a UFO in Cinema 4D. I learned how to make this UFO while working on post production for THE INSURGENTS. This is the same technique I used in the final trailer which can be seen at PrettyPeoplePictures.com/Insurgents. In this tutorial I'll show you how to create a basic textured disc shape and then drop it into an Array Object where you can create an epic looking UFO.

      <title>TUTORIALS COMING SOON!</title>
      <description>
Either this week or next week, I am going to do something I have always wanted to do...a TUTORIAL!

90% of my filmmaking education has come from free online tutorials. They have literally been invaluable to me and I have always wanted to pay it forward.

So I'm gonna start out with a bang. I'm gonna show you how to create your own UFO (as seen in THE INSURGENTS) using Cinema 4D. The tutorial will be a video tutorial for you to download and follow along. Should be very fun.

      <title>My Top Five Films of 2008</title>
      <description>
Looking back, 2008 was a pretty incredible year for movies. However, when the Academy Awards nominations were announced last month, I couldn't help but think, "Ehh...I'm not too impressed." I'm a HUGE fan of the Academy Awards so I don't want to come off as a dude who only watches genre flicks, but the "top" movies of last year weren't very exciting. I cried my little eyes out at the end of Benjamin Button, but I will only rewatch it if it happens to be on television. As much as I love Danny Boyle, I HATED Slumdog Millionaire and hope to NEVER see it again. This usually isn't the case when I don't like a Best Picture winner. I was not a fan of The Departed what-so-ever but I have seen that movie at least ten times. I HATED the end of No Country for Old Men, so I've watched the first 90 minutes a number of times.

To get to the point, I have made a list of my five favorite movies of the year. I realize the Academy hasn't recognized any of them as the best films of the year, but for my money, you couldn't get any better than the masterpieces below.

      <title>Ass Kickers</title>
      <description>
After watching Taken, I couldn't help but think, "Why in the hell don't they make more movies like this?" This movie is so awesome! It's really hard to explain to people how good it is. The storyline is simple enough to fit the mold of an action film, but unique enough to keep you interested. The direction is "frenchy" enough to be interesting, but not too much of a departure from a popcorn flick. The action is jumpy and quick, but not nauseating like the Bourne series. But most importantly, the ship is lead by an Oscar winner who treats this cheesy action film the same way he would Schindler's List.

The film's premise is simple, "Liem Neeson as an ass kicker." And you know what? That's all it needs. So this lead to my original question, "Why don't they make more movies like this?" While they are few and far between, there are some out there.

So besides Taken, here are three of my favorite ass kicking movies.
