ISDA is relaunching the FpML Reporting/Regulatory Reporting Working Group which will extend the current FpML standard to define data elements to be used for reporting OTC derivative positions between market participants and to regulators. The Reporting Working Group will have the following main objectives:

Develop report formats that will meet a wide spectrum of industry needs with minimal complexity
Develop tools and specifications for converting between the full FpML confirmation view and simplified report formats.

The working group will start meeting early February 2011.

Call for Participation: ISDA Launches FpML Collateral Working Group

ISDA has launched a new FpML working group focusing on Collateral business processes. The FpML Collateral Working Group will extend the FpML standard with a definition of the standard messages to support the Collateral business processes, building on the work done by the ISDA Collateral Committee (see http://www.isda.org/c_and_a/pdf/Electronic-Messaging.pdf). The following business processes will be supported:

Margin Call
Interest Payment
Substitution

The working group will start meeting in the beginning of January 2010 on a weekly basis, with a goal to have a first working draft available by February. Anyone interested in contributing to the collateral framework in FpML, either from a technical or a business perspective, is welcome to join the working group.

A new beta version of the FpML editor/Viewer can be downloaded from the FpML website at http://www.fpml.org/tools/editor/index.html.

The new version of the FpML Editor/Viewer covers all additional features in FpML version 4.4, including the Support for New CDS products (options on CDS), New Equity products (new variations on variance swaps, dividend swaps, and correlation swaps, for example dispersion variance swaps), and Commercial loans messages.

ISDA Members are able to purchase the Editor/Viewer free of charge. Non ISDA members who have purchased the FpML Editor/Viewer in the past will be able to download the beta version at no additional cost.
