      <title>January 3, 2010: The Big Move...</title>
      <description>
Well, as most people who access this site know by now, I was offered a job as a meteorological intern at the NWS in Anchorage, AK this past October and moved up to Alaska in November. It has been a challenge to get acquainted with such a new geographic area and its associated weather patterns, but I am enjoying every minute of my new job.

Unfortunately, my move to Alaska leaves the state of this site in limbo. I have not yet fully decided how I will tailor this site to fit the new climate I am in. Since I doubt I will do much of any storm chasing in the next few years, the Chase Logs page will be turned into more of a weather journal focused on all weather phenomena I encounter. The storm chasing page will remain focused on MN severe weather--no use tailoring that page for Alaska. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise, since I can take a break from chasing and work on other parts of the site. For now I will just try to maintain the site in its current state...

      <title>August 20, 2009: What a Strange Day Indeed</title>
      <description>
The "Chase Log" for yesterday's freak tornado event in the Twin Cities is online. I am also making changes to the Storm Center portion of the site, which should also be up shortly.

      <title>August 12, 2009: Homepage Summer Cleanup</title>
      <description>
The homepage has been redesigned to hopefully flow better but still convey the same amount of information. This included redesigning the website banner, moving the "Latest News" and "NWC Storm Chase Update" sections, creating a "Research" section, and updating miscellaneous information. I removed a number of (what I considered) old features on the "Storm Chasing" page of the website and streamlined that page as well.
