<![CDATA[Acne has come from being a mere teenage concern to almost an epidemic today. With increased beauty awareness, even the adolescents do not want to live with this menace anymore and want to do all they can to save themselves from acne.

If you too are prone to suffer from this skin problem, then first determine your skin type. Chances are that you have an oily skin or a normal one. Whatever your skin type is, it is alright to have a pimple or two now or then. But you really need to worry when you are developing a new pimple, papule or even a couple of new blackheads everyday.

If every morning you get up and see a few new spots, that too with a scary red color, its time you took note. Stop using any faulty soaps and cosmetics right away and consult a good dermatologist. If you do not attend to it in time, acne can actually lead to more serious skin diseases, curing which will then be a major task.

Diet, nutrition, hormones, rest, exercise and especially the chemicals you put on your skin, all affect the skin's appearance. Are you to blame for that recent breakout?

Keep note of all the things you put into (or onto) your body each day and ask yourself if you are guilty of neglecting or abusing your body. Are you drinking at least eight glasses of water per day? Are you drying your oily skin out so much that it's more prone to acne than if you used a different product?

After you've journaled about 2 weeks worth of notes you'll see patterns in your lifestyle and can then question which habits you may need to change or eliminate and perhaps see areas that need a major overhaul.

Don't be afraid to throw away skin care products that don't work. You may have wasted a few dollars but that's better than making your skin worse. The most important factor is to be aware of how your habits affect your health. You can never be too young to take care of yourself but if you wait too long, it could be too late. Don't make that mistake!
